Considerations
Eligibility, limitations, supported gateways, and theme requirements for ReorderE subscriptions.
This page lists common requirements and limitations you should review before enabling subscriptions with ReorderE Subscription App.
Reference (Shopify Help Center):
Sales channel support
Subscriptions are supported only on specific Shopify sales channels and storefront types. Before launch, confirm that your channels (Online Store, POS, Shop, custom storefront) support subscription purchase options for your use case.
Discounts and promos
- Admin-created automatic discounts can apply to subscription orders.
- Some discount mechanisms (for example, script-based discounts) might apply only to the first payment, depending on your store setup.
Orders and workflows that don’t support subscriptions
Common limitations include:
- Gift cards may apply only to the initial payment for a subscription
- Draft order workflows may not support subscriptions
- Some advanced order editing tools and workflows may not support subscription orders
- Certain product bundling features may be incompatible with subscriptions
Payment gateway requirements
Subscriptions require a supported payment gateway. Availability depends on region and your Shopify plan/eligibility.
Commonly supported options include:
- Shopify Payments
- PayPal Express
- Authorize.net
- Adyen
- Stripe (availability can be limited)
Customer billing behavior
Subscription charges follow Shopify’s subscription billing rules (including timing of when recurring charges occur relative to the due date). Validate the behavior in a test store before enabling subscriptions for customers.
Theme compatibility
To display subscription options on product pages, your theme needs to support modern theme architecture (sections/blocks). If you’re not sure, check with your theme developer.
